Open Position

JLUSA seeks a driven, energetic, and independent self-starter for the Administrative Intern position. The Administrative Intern will work closely with JLUSA’s management team and provide administrative/logistical support to the Leadership, Development, Advocacy, and Membership departments, while helping to maintain an organized office environment. This is an unpaid internship and is a great opportunity to gain starting experience in non-profit administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Administrative Intern performs a wide range of duties including, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the coordination of meetings, conference calls, and events, including preparing necessary background information packets, coordinating meals/catering, set up and break down of the space;
  • Assist with coordinating logistics for JLUSA’s Leading with Conviction leadership training program and other advocacy-related events, as needed;
  • Assist other organizational departments (Advocacy, Development, Membership, Leadership), as needed;
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the office environment, including ensuring a clean and organized work space;
  • Provide general clerical support (photocopying, printing, answering phone calls, recording messages, mailing, running office errands as needed, etc.)

Qualifications

  • A passion for, and working knowledge of, social justice and change;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required; Experience with G Suite preferred;
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and to responsibly manage several projects at a time;
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative instincts, sense of humor, and charm.

Requirements

  • This is an unpaid internship position. JLUSA can work with your academic institution to ensure credit approval, if needed.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 15 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
  • Required availability to attend and support some evening and weekend events occasionally.
